CHRISTMAS FUN AT THE BAKER'S HOUSE

"The Christmas Traditional Breakfast" YUM!!!! Fritz, (Pock), and Rachel whipped up some delightful, delicious, eats for everyone. No one went home hungry.
Laura Beth decorated and baked this wonderful dish of deserts, (of course she had Meemaw's help). All the kids enjoyed decorating, baking and eating their creations!
The kids sure are having fun with the presents they picked out for everyone. (Of course you know this is why they chose these particular gifts, because they REALLY wanted to play with them for themselves)! Glad everyone wants to share!!
Adam and Rachel let the kids pick out presents for eveyone at the Dollar Store. Wilson picked out these airplanes for Pock and can't wait till Pock opens them so he can help fly them.
Laura Beth is dressed for the occasion!! She has on her "bakers outfit" to prepare her tasty treats.

Earthly POOR, spiritually RICH, that's where we are right now in this TIME and PLACE.
You know it's OK, I'm thanking GOD as we endure this STORM!!
If you are a business owner... you know what I'm talking about....!
I'm inspired as I listen to my old Wayne Watson CD which keeps my priorities in check.....

If I had my way, I must admit, if I'd call every play of the game....
I'd pray for good times, blue skies and sunshine and I'd avoid with a passion any pain.....
But with every blow from an angry wind and with every dark shadow that falls....
There's a better view up around the bend, where this puzzle makes some sense after all....
Mistakes and misfortunes will come and go, for you to try and fail is no disgrace...
Sometimes the rough and rocky road is going to take you to a beautiful place....

Is there anyone out there looking back through your faith, can deny that your Father knows what's best...?
Oh but at the time and place for the life of you, you saw no reason, no good for the test....
But now remembering as you watched His hand put the color to your black and white dreams...
Mabey one more time, past what you can see, oh the trouble at the moment is not as bad as it seems...
Sometimes the unspoiled beauty of the wisdom of God is lying in the wilderness....
Up there beyond the easy reach, where the journey takes a little more faith I guess....

Faith ..... the sustance of things hoped for....the evidence of things not seen! Heb 11:1

Various scenes of Germany

This is my last blog before I leave Germany. Fritz and I walked down the strip outside Katy and Brad's house. Here are some various pictures of the local people and their daily activities.
These pictures include the corner bakery, ice cream shop and a man doing sidewalk art.

The Mercedes-Benz museum

This is a 300 SL Gullwing. It was the same make/model my parents owned in the 1960's. My Dad sold it in 1972 for $7000. Today it is worth over a half million! Hind sight is 20/20!

Fritz and I took a train ride into downtown Stuttgart and visited the Mercedes-Benz museum. It was 8 stories high and had the first Mercedes every made (1890's) to todays modern cars. One interesting fact that I never knew was during WW2, the Jews in Stuttgart were forced to work 80 hour weeks the Mercedes factories. As the city was being bombed, their safety was disregarded and many died.
Including the train ride there and back and the tour, the whole trip was over 6 hours. 6 hours well spent!

The Lichtenstein castle

Wednesday of this week we visited the Lichtenstein castle. It was about an hour drive from Katy and Brad's home. It was the first castle I had ever been to! It was very interesting dating back to the 1300's. We toured inside and saw many old relics of the century's gone by. The grounds were beautiful as was the scenic view of the country from the top.

Here in Germany

Here are some of the sights Katy and I saw while taking an evening stroll. The homes here are unique and individual. Each home has it's own garden. The foliage here is beautiful. Greener than Michigan! The weather is also beautiful and it is quiet and serene.

Annual Pentwater Garage Sale

Just as every year we got up early to check out the bargains. We spent about 4 hours in town, walked about 10 miles and found a arms full of treasures. Fritz and I went on the first round and Grandpa joined on the second. I looked at so many items my head was aching, but it was worth it all in the end.

Put your high waters on!

Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain...

I am sure you have heard on the news about all the northern flooding. Well, it sure didn't skip Pentwater! It finally stopped on Tuesday. People haven't seen flood waters like these since 1986. Funny thing is we experienced the flooding that year too! It has driven the swans off their nests and turtles clinging to their logs for dear life. This is a picture of the high rising tide. Hopefully it will be receding soon so all will be back to normal.

Welcome to my world

Hi.  I'm new at this.  Just trying to keep friends and family up to date with my life.  We are leaving for Michigan in a week.  It's getting hot in Memphis, so we're happy to head north.
